“You don’t think it shows too much?” Bella asked Sarresh. The pair of hip hugging straight leg dark blue jeans that gripped every curve beautifully, emphasizing her ass that she had on were common amongst the clothes hanging in her closet. But the sea green open-back satin blouse that tied in three places – lower back, middle back, and around the neck- wasn’t like anything she’d strayed toward. Even though she had stopped wearing button ups and converted to t-shirts, strapless blouses, or spaghetti strapped tank tops, this was a new step in the opposite direction of prude.
Sarresh rubbed her chin stepping into the mirror behind her, “I don’t. Besides depending on where you’re wanting to get the tattoo- could be useful.”
Turning around she glanced over her shoulder dragging a hand across her lower back, “You make a good point. It’ll show it off great.”
“A tramp stamp?” Sarresh exclaimed.
Before Bella could answer another voice chimed in, “Did someone say tattoo?”
Caught off guard, she swung her head around with her mouth agape as she looked at the man standing before her with a shit-eating grin on his face. Oh boy! Quickly her face lit up with a smile, “Yes, David… you did.”
“As in you’re getting one or already got one?”
“That’s kind of hot,” he said, “Speaking of, I like this outfit on you. Absolutely gorgeous.”
“Thanks,” she grinned. Encouraging him was like playing with fire. Was she doing that? Yes, she most certainly was. And she was going to get burned, well lightning does that too doesn’t it, so why not do it on purpose?
“Welcome. So what are you guys doing here?”
Bella laughed, “Isn’t that obvious?”
David gripped the back of his neck providing her a sheepish grin, “I guess that’s a stupid question. Are you planning to go in more stores?”
Curling her arms across her chest she regarded him with a small smirk. Never before had she seen him blush, even though the only time they spent together was at school, a blush wasn’t something she anticipated was in David’s emotional reactions. She can’t help but smile a little more, watching him nervously drag his hand through that thick blue-black hair of his. There it was again – this attraction that she consistently tried to deny. Three months ago they sat side by side at a piano, he played and she sang. If she hadn’t stopped him, his lips would’ve touched hers. But it wasn’t so much the almost kiss that she thought about now, no – it was the declaration he made claiming that she had feelings for him. Even though she refused to admit it back then, she knew he was right. Still she wanted to refuse admission, except she’d already done it a couple weeks ago at school. He was just standing there at his locker, a few feet from her own, talking to friends and like now she glimpsed into those sapphire blue eyes that always draw her in. Despite the fact that he’s a soccer player, his musculature wasn’t overly developed. He had just enough tone to be noticeable allowing his jeans to sit perfectly on his form without being clingy. In school he often wore t-shirts, but tonight he’s out and covered in a burgundy button up with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He asked a question, didn’t he? Probably good to answer it. With a side long glance to her friend, “Yeah, there area few more stores we’re going to hit.”
Nodding, “That’s cool. Anything after that?” he asked dropping his hand from his neck to his side.
“Dinner, then maybe a movie.”
Uncurling her arms she shoved her hands into the pockets of the jeans she’s had on. Smiling again she couldn’t help but realize how absolutely adorable his nervousness was. He could be just the kind of distraction she needed. Sensitive to his embarrassment, she decided to ease his suffering, “If you’re not doing anything, you’re welcome to join us. Maybe you can help me find a few more outfits that make me… what was the word you used again?” She asks tilting her head a little. Is she flirting? Absolutely!
Smiling, “Gorgeous, but I like hot better.”
“Me too,” she nodded. Glancing out her periphery to her friend she recalls that they don’t formally know each other, “David, this is my friend Sarresh. Don’t think you guys have met.”
Sarresh shook her head extending her hand she said, “That would be correct. Good to meet you.”
David nodded, “Yeah, you too.” Glancing over his shoulder to the guy who has been quietly hanging around, “This is my friend Tyler. Tyler, this is Bella and Sarresh.”
Shaking hands first with Sarresh then Bella he stated, “I’ve heard a lot about you. Glad I can put a face with all the info.”
“I hope it’s only good things,” she told him.
“I don’t think Dave knows anything else,” Tyler answered.
Biting the right side of her bottom lip, she offered a shy smile. Getting attention from David she was okay with, but hearing that he talked about her in a positive light was… a bit unnerving, “Umm, well let me go change back into my clothes so I can pay for these. I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
